Meet the Baixo Alentejo team members

Isa Calado, DVM

Clinical Director, Veterinarian

Graduated in 2003 in the University of Évora. She did several internships in Hospital Veterinário do Porto and UAB (Barcelona), with her main rotations in the ultrasound and ophthalmology department.

 

She finished several degrees in abdominal ultrasound, both basic and advanced courses and accompanied colleagues in the ultrasound practice in ecografia de referência em ambulatório (ECOVET)

She also finished courses in veterinarian management and human resources.

She is a managing partner of Hospital Veterinário de Baixo Alentejo since 2005, where she manages the human resources department and the abdominal ultrasound service.

Also she is a trainer in veterinarian in veterinarian assistant programs and workshops for veterinary nurses.

She has a special interest in radiology, internal medicine and teambuilding.

André Claúdio, DVM

Clinical Director, Veterinarian.

Graduated in 2003 from the Universidade de Évora, going for internships after in Hospital Veterinário do Porto, for a year, followed by professional experience in clinics and hospitals in the Lisbon area, finishing afterm internships in surgery and dermatology in the Universidade Autónoma de Barcelona.

With Dra. Isa Calado, in 2005, they created the Hospital Veterinário do Baixo Alentejo. He is responsible for the surgery department but also does general practice.

He finished several courses in surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy and communications, management and marketing. He has a master’s degree in traumatology and orthopedic surgery from the Universidade Complutense de Madrid.

When he is not working he likes to spend time with his family, traveling, camping and playing music.

Marta Alves, DVM

Veterinarian

Finished her master’s degree in Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar in 2023.

During her studies she did internships in centro de reabilitação animal Oliveiras, Hospital Veterinário Animar, cooperativa união sebastiense, animal Vet Pires and Erris Veterinary clinic.

She is part of the Hospital Veterinário Baixo Alentejo team since 2024
