All of our center are equipped with an automatic contrast media injector. The reason why this equipment is so important, is due to the fact that contrast media, whyle being injected intravenously, will “paint in white” the structures that have contrast and are being hit with radiation X. This “painting” of the structures will enhance the ability to visualize certain structures, this way the technician will be able to give a more precise and proper diagnosis. The automatic injector makes possible the synchronization of the acquisition of ct images at specific times of contrast media being injected, this way we obtain several diferent phases of inject, for example, an arterial phase and venous phase that are extremely important in vascular studies. This way our imaging center can obtain better and more specific diagnosis
Some studies that we use the automatic injector are, for example, vascular, urinary, neoplasia and cranium.
